“Certainly one of my lecturers brought me in to do a session with Damon Albarn. He was writing a Chinese language opera on the time (Monkey: Journey to the West). There were six singers introduced in. He was writing concepts and recording vocalists singing them in real time. He had a four-string Chinese language instrument and an engineer. He was singing these concepts they usually have been popping it on to a laptop computer, printing it out, and bringing it in to us. We have been singing it for him. He was getting an concept of what his concepts appeared like with real singers.
It was superb to see him work; what an unimaginable voice and vocal vary. The creativity could be very apparent. To see him at work was superb.”
