A stunning story from Blaze Bayley, lead singer of the British heavy metallic band Wolfsbane (and Iron Maiden for a number of years in the 90s), by way of Metallic Hammer (January 2008):
Blaze recollects one amusing moment during recording. “There was this shitty little indie band in there doing demos, or the B-sides for their single or something,” he says. “I feel they have been about to launch their first album. We thought nothing of them on the time, however a number of years later, I used to be at an Iron Maiden conference in Brighton, and this drunk bloke got here crashing by means of the gang, singing the lyrics for [mini-album track] Paint The Town Pink in a really slurred manner. He was the fella who sung for that indie lot, and it was truly fairly candy that he remembered Wolfsbane… and that music. Especially when you consider how massive they turned.”
And who was this drunken singer from “that indie lot”? Damon Albarn from Blur.
