Vinyl data have been a surprise hit this Christmas, with weekly gross sales within the UK soaring to their highest degree this century through the festive purchasing interval, fuelled by artists together with Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones.
The vinyl record resurgence, with a new era of music lovers turning to retro codecs akin to LPs and cassettes, has fuelled a sales surge to their highest annual level since Elton John’s Sacrifice and Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby topped the charts in 1990.
