Properly it’s been stated that Blur principally sing about England, and American listeners just don’t get your songs.

Albarn: I feel in some ways in which’s a good comment, nevertheless it’s only a geographical thing. What I’m truly singing about is results on me, “me” being my era. The type of characters which have come out of the 80’s. You had Reagan in the 80’s and we had Thatcher, they are comparable type of issues so there have to be some similarities between us. There have to be some point where the experiences are the identical. All my characters are utterly alienated and in routines which they will’t get out of they usually have psychotic thoughts making an attempt to get themselves out of that. They’re all simply fucking materialistic wankers (laughs mischieviously).
