Are we out of time? Damon Albarn carried off stage following five-hour set

Blur frontman’s present with Africa Categorical at Roskilde in Denmark lasted till 4am, and was only stopped as soon as ‘Massive Dave’ intervened

Damon Albarn’s appearance at Roskilde music pageant on four July ended with an intervention, when the Blur frontman refused to go away the stage throughout a five-hour set.

Closing the annual event in Denmark, Albarn and his Africa Categorical collective – which includes Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Seye Adelekan and Songhoy Blues - launched into an epic efficiency that lasted till 4am. The set included covers of Randy Newman and reinterpretations of Gorillaz tunes, and particular visitors resembling Graham Coxon and Laura Mvula also stepped in through the five-hour extravaganza.
