They are the first band in ages that make promoters truly afraid to go for a quick leak, in case the stage just isn't there once they come again. “I hate all this cool shit, you realize,” explains Blur’s boyish, articulate singer Damon, utterly unnecessarily. “It’s like The Who — any shot of video you ever see of them, whatever they’re enjoying, it’s just so thrilling. I mean, some of their music’s completely diabolical, however they all the time maintained that degree of pleasure.
“And so did the Stones as nicely. “The Beatles didn’t want it, cos that they had so many individuals screaming at them the power was created anyway.”
